Objects Conservator - President
Saiful Bakhri
Saiful is a conservator and a graduate student in the UCLA PhD Program in the Conservation of Material Culture. Previously, he worked for three years at the Bali Cultural Heritage Preservation Office, Gianyar, Bali, a technical unit responsible for the conservation of cultural heritage in three provinces of Indonesia: Bali, West and East Nusa Tenggara. He is also a conservation consultant for several museums namely Museum Puri Lukisan in Ubud and Museum Pustaka Lontar in Karangasem. Saiful has a background in archaeology and has completed his Masters of Cultural Materials Conservation at the University of Melbourne.

Lia Sumichan
Lia Sumichan is an independent paintings conservator based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Her interest in arts and culture came from her family who has been involved in Indonesia’s art scene. Realizing the urgent need for good conservation practices in Indonesia, she decided to pursue conservation studies at the University of Melbourne and graduated with the Masters of Cultural Materials Conservation degree (First Class Honours) in 2019. Her thesis research is titled Affandi’s Materials and Techniques: A Preliminary Technical Art Study of Paintings from the 1950s which is one of the very few technical art studies ever conducted on Indonesian artists. She has had conservation work experience in Australia, the United Kingdom and the Philippines. Now, she works for private clients and institutions while at the same time dedicates her time to advocate for conservation in Indonesia through sharing her knowledge and actively engaging and discussing with Indonesian contemporary artists. Her focus includes conservation in tropical climate, technical art study and preventive conservation for both modern and contemporary Southeast Asian art.

Gadis F. Putri
Adis is a paintings conservator based in the Netherlands. From 2021 to 2022, she was a Research Associate at Netherlands Institute for Conservation+Art+Science+ (NICAS+). She has a Master of Cultural Materials Conservation from the University of Melbourne specialising in Paintings Conservation.

Government Relations Manager
Laila N. Fitrani
Laila Fitrani is a Collection Manager at Bogor Presidential Palace. She is responsible for preserving and managing collections including paintings, sculptures and other crafts. She has a background in Visual Art majoring in Sculpture from Bandung Institute of Technology and has completed her Master of Cultural Materials Conservation in 2020 at The University of Melbourne. Her thesis research focuses on the degradation of unsaturated polyester resin used by Indonesian Artists. She is also a secretary at Institut Konservasi and a member of the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (IIC). She is interested in reforming conservation practices in Indonesia, primarily in the museum managed by the Indonesian government.
